The Madera Legal Costa Rica certification is based on compliance with current regulations regarding timber harvesting, so forestry projects and timber products that carry the Madera Legal Costa Rica seal are demonstrating that they have complied with the regulations and are therefore legal and sustainable. The certification is based on a verification process that includes on-site inspection and review of documentary evidence to demonstrate legality and that guarantees compliance with current regulations for the harvesting, extraction and transport of wood, as well as the conservation of forests and development of forestry projects.
